SEPTEMBER 2025 Newsletter from NBCW Diocesan Link

          JUBILEE 2025

September 2025 Web Newsletter

Welcome to the September edition of the NBCW Diocesan Link newsletter.

Summer is almost over and many of our parishes will be looking forward to events and courses in the Autumn.

Do have a look at past blog pages as there are some good ideas on how to increase our personal formation and spread the word of our faith. In the August blog I included some summer book suggestions and was pleased to see a comment by Marguerite suggesting a book I hadn’t heard of. It was called ‘God’s Smuggler’ by Brother Andrew.  I bought it from Eden.co.uk, the Christian Bookshop, and agree with Marguerite his testimony is ‘mind-blowing’. It’s a book to make you laugh, cry and wonder.

September brings us 2 big events. Here in our diocese on 20th September is the Festival of Hope,  and the next weekend September 26-28th is the Jubilee of Catechists in Rome. Both events I am looking forward to.

Do share comments And thankyou for reading my blog.

The Genesis account of Abraham and his lengthy walk with God is our inspiration as we spend five days travelling with the Lord. We’ll be reflecting on our life’s journey so far, with all its ups and downs and discerning our path for the future. Each day will include prayer, teaching, workshops and a relaxed lunch. The emphasis will be on coming to terms with the challenges of later years and seeing life afresh with all its possibilities.

“Undertaking the course has helped me to accept that I am in a new phase of my life but that I am no less valuable. It has given me the confidence to explore new challenges and new directions that God may make known.” – Abraham participant

A New Resource from the NBCW Education Committee

Journeying On: A faith formation resource – NBCW

The NBCW Education Committee promotes a holistic, lifelong education for Catholic women, focusing on both spiritual and moral development. While there is a large element of formation in its approach, the committee nevertheless remains alert to the issues affecting Catholic schools and through webinars and discussions examines the social factors which prevent young women from engaging fully with education and their faith. Never dormant, its most recent task has been to produce a student formation booklet, “Journeying On,” which highlights opportunities for ongoing spiritual development. This is available on our website, and we warmly invite you to browse the content. Journeying On: A faith formation resource – NBCW
