JUNE 2025 Newsletter from NBCW Diocesan Link
Welcome to the June edition of the NBCW Diocesan
Link newsletter. As we bring this Easter season to a close we are entering
an exciting new phase in the catholic church for we have a new pope.
The church is also due to receive the reports from the 10
Study groups set up at the Synod last year, and catholics around the world
continue to develop their understanding of Synodality.
With our new catholics entering the Mystagogy period it is
an exciting time for them and for the parishes they join. How will your parish
involve them?

What a difference a month makes. We have a new pope. POPE LEO XIV. Vatican news gives an official biography but google and you
will find many stories and interesting facts about our new Pope. Do share with those in your parish, and friends- whether
catholic or not-, as this Pope is not shy of using the media and speaking out
for peace and social justice. https://www.vaticannews.va/en/pope/news/2025-05/biography-of-robert-francis-prevost-pope-leo-xiv.html |

2025 is the year of The Jubilee.
At www.jubilaeum2025.va
you can find a host of events being held in Rome.
If you are a catechist or
interested in getting involved why not join others from around the world at the
jubilee of catechists in Rome September
26-28. It is free to sign up and there is plenty of time to find accommodation
for the weekend.
If you decide to go, do let me
know as it would be great to have a diocesan group. I shall be there.

NBCW BOOK
CLUB The NBCW will be reading Till God Will
which is an account of Mary Ward’s own life written by herself. This will
be enfleshed by historical aspects from many writings, including a recent book
Mary Ward : First Sister of Feminism, which gives a very accessible account of
catholic recusancy, which was the background against which Mary opened several
schools for girls. Sr. Ann CJ will attend some of the readings and will field
questions as they arise.
To share your
parish/organisation’s news or further info on the above please contact Sue
